Rick Pennell

I am a landscape painter focused on expressing places I've experienced. I use on-site painting (plein air) to get the sense of place and time, and then use this as inspiration for larger works.

I studied under Murray Phillips, and have been inspired by artists present (Gaye Adams, Mike Svob, Graham Shaw) and artists past (Carl Rungus, A.Y. Jackson, and the Group of Seven).

I currently live (and paint) in Abbotsford, BC
