Bio
Guy Hollington began blowing glass in 2014 at Terminal City Glass in Vancouver. He has studied at the Corning Museum of glass in New York as well as the Pilchuck Glass School in Washington State.
For Guy, glass is a medium that incorporates both preplanning and spontaneity. As most works are completed within a single session, he finds it important to understand how colours will blend with the fluidity of the glass towards its final form. But, at the same time, he allows the medium to push back and suggest new directions and possibilities.
Guy wants his finished pieces to be become part of everyday living for the collector. Something that draws the eye and enhances their surroundings. As well as being a visually stimulating medium, glass is also highly tactile. The smoothness of the finished piece encourages the owner to touch the piece and enjoy the curves.
