My name is Paramjit (Pam ) Assi and I was born and raised in Leicester City in the U.K.

I attended the local Art College and studied the history of Art and the work of the Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh was to be my life long inspiration and gave my style of painting a name, Expressionism.

My husband and I emigrated to Canada in 1996 where I continued my love of painting-my subject matter has continued to change and evolve but it was the Covid Pandemic in 2020 that was responsible for a new subject matter in my work.

Being isolated at home the birds in my garden gave me constant companionship with nature as the backdrop. I interpret the gestures, poses and behaviours of birds into stories on my canvas , I explore colour and patterns of spring and summer flowers and I use photography as a tool ‘to capture these special moments in time’.

As a local Surrey artist my paintings are exhibiting at the ‘Blue Lotus Art Gallery’ at Guildford Mall and at the ‘Willowbrook Art Gallery’ at Willowbrook Mall.
