Gabrielle Strauss was formally trained in her native Vienna, and this provided a solid background for further experimenting and developing a looser style after coming to Canada 1989.
For Gabrielle the process of creativity is an adventure of states of joy and pursuing an artistic career a life long dream.
Gabrielle works predominantly in acrylics and mixed media. The speed of execution coupled with her commitment to bold, vibrant colors and textures allows her to physically keep pace with her lively internal dialogue.
Much of Gabrielle’s work brims with whimsy and flair, and her paintings are greatly inspired by her love of forests, rural scenery,heritage homes, florals, rivers and oceans and her travels to Molokai.
As an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, Fraser Valley Chapter, the Fort Langley Artists Group and other arts councils, Gabrielle has exhibited in over 50 group and solo exhibitions and her work has devoted followers and collectors throughout Canada and Europe. Gabrielle resides in Walnut Grove, Langley.
